Lightning to portable headphone dac is this possible?

I have am iPhone 5 and a high end pair of headphones. I want to use the lightning port of my iphone (bypassing the jackplug thus bypassing the iphones amplifier) to connect to a DAC and then DAC to my headphones so the full potential is used.
